People in their 70s can halve risk of heart failure by doing 20 minutes of exercise a day

It is not clear why exercise helps the heart so much but the researchers suggest it could be because physical activity improves the flow of blood in the arteries, reducing its stickiness and, in turn, the formation of blood clots.
